Project Overview

This stunning condo overlooking the Edmonton River Valley embraces its natural surroundings with a minimalist design approach. The west-facing view sets the tone, inspiring a neutral palette that complements the light grey flooring and ebonized grey cabinetry. The client, transitioning from a large family home, sought to downsize without compromise while preserving a sense of warmth and tradition.

A key influence was the client’s passion for the color red, which is subtly woven throughout the design to make the space feel more personal. The challenge of downsizing to a 2,285 sq. ft. condo was met by integrating dual-purpose rooms and paying meticulous attention to detail. Chinese Heritage red, symbolizing good luck, was incorporated through custom millwork and light fixtures. A play on texture, color, and surface reflectivity created depth and visual interest, blending modern design with a sense of tradition. The result is a thoughtful, welcoming space that honors family legacy while offering contemporary comfort.
